Church BuildingLightning fast read meant to make you think…

10 Mistakes People Make with Church (plus 1 bonus):

1. Think attendance is optional. (Hebrews 10:25)
2. Go to get rather than to give. (“Love … does not seek its own”). (John 13:35; 15:13)
3. Neglect supporting her financially. (Luke 6:38)
4. Forget that Jesus died for the church. (Ephesians 5:25)
5. See it as a building rather than a Body (of people). (Romans 12:5; 1 Peter 2:9)
6. See it as a service on Sunday (“I am going to church” or “I went to church today”).
7. Badmouth her spokesmen and women (preachers). (Ephesians 4:29)
8. Use it for personal monetary gain (“name it, claim it” / prosperity gospel). (1 Timothy 6:10; Galatians 1:8)
9. Believe it’s foundation is Peter versus Jesus Himself and / or the confession of faith in Him (“Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God”). (Matthew 16:18)
10. Overlook that wherever God’s people gather, there is the church. (Matthew 18:20)

BONUS Think she should be filled with perfect people rather than imperfect people who are in the process of being perfected (“The church is like Noah’s Ark; it stinks at times, but it’s the only thing that floats”). (2 Corinthians 3:18)
