A Really Dumb Christian

Lions“Then the king gave orders, and Daniel was brought in and cast into the lion’s den.” (Daniel 6:16a)

MODERN DAY STORY OF DANIEL

It all happened in the capital of Taiwan a decade ago.

I guess you could call it a modern day story of Daniel (or not?).

Local5.com reported on a man intent on bringing lions to Jesus (literally).

You heard it right.

It started with the man “jumping into a [den of African lions] at the Taipei Zoo.”

He then was reported to have declared, “‘Jesus will save you'” to the lions – and then they all fell to their knees and repented right there.

Not!

What really followed was the man adding, “‘Come bite me.'”

Of course, the lions never thought of that idea.

Thus, they obliged and bit the man.

Thankfully, the story has a happy ending.

Zoo officials were able to rescue what happened to be a 46-year-old (acting like a 2-year-old!) before he was “seriously injured or killed.”

It didn’t hurt that the “lions were fed earlier in the day.”

SOME REALLY DUMB CHRISTIANS OUT THERE

And I guess what came to my mind upon reading such a story is that there are some really dumb Christians out there.

The jury’s still out on this guy’s salvation!

But the fact remains we need to be committed to wise living.

Amen?

It says so much about our faith and who we represent and the gospel message.

The world doesn’t need any more fuel for the fire to discount Christianity.

What it really needs is true believers who show, through their godly actions and lifestyle and choices, they are true representatives of Christ.

As our Lord has said, “‘Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.'” (Matthew 5:16)
