Lightning fast read meant to make you think…

10 Mistakes People Make with Periscope (plus 1 bonus):

1. Are not an early adopter.

2. Think they have a “face for radio” (you don’t have to be “good looking” to do it).

3. Forget they can face the camera away from them to film (takes care of the “face for radio” thing).

4. Overlook how they can interview someone (ask questions and let them answer – writing out your questions beforehand is helpful).

5. Are paralyzed due to expectations of perfection (nobody’s perfect, but we get better through practice).

6. Don’t realize there is a way to save scopes (e.g. http://katch.me/aheartforgod).

7. Forget to follow people just like on Twitter (search for me on the Periscope app -> aheartforgod).

8. Struggle for ideas (read a blog post or website article, take people on a jog, explain how to do something like #Tworship, share what’s happening locally, livestream your pastor’s sermon, etc).

9. Forget to ask for followers just like on Twitter (see parentheses again on #7).

10. Overlook that there is a landscape mode.

BONUS Don’t realize you can watch scopes on your desktop computer, too (e.g. https://www.periscope.tv/aheartforgod)
