The Most Incredible Storm That Makes Hurricane Katrina Look Like a Kindergartner

Hurricane Katrina August 28 2005 NASA“See to it that you do not refuse Him who is speaking. And His voice shook the earth then, but now He has promised, saying, ‘Yet once more I will shake not only the earth, but also the heaven.’ And this expression, ‘Yet once more,’ denotes the removing of those things which can be shaken, as of created things, in order that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.'” (Hebrews 12:25a, 26-27)

HURRICANE KATRINA

One of the most incredible storms ever to hit the United States was a hurricane named Katrina in 2005. (It formed 10 years ago today by the way.)

The National Hurricane Center compared its intensity to that of Hurricane Camille in 1969 (902 millibars air pressure; 160 mile per hour winds and higher gusts).

Hurricane Katrina would go on to devastate the Gulf Coast, all but wiping New Orleans off the map.

EVACUATION NOTICES

And you know it’s amazing to me when I hear of the evacuation notices that are issued when a hurricane approaches.

There’s always somebody that plans to “ride out” the storm.

(After all, they’ve done it in the past and been alright. Why should it be any different this time?)

And many of these do end up surviving (thankfully), but there are still many others who either get injured or killed and all because the storm was coming and they didn’t think the warning meant them.

DAY OF THE LORD

Spiritually speaking, there’s another “storm” and it’s on the horizon.

And it’s gonna make Hurricane Katrina look like a kindergartner in comparison.

The storm I’m talking about is what the Bible calls the Day of the Lord where, just prior to His Son’s coming, God will shake both earth and heaven, too, with His presence and power. (Zephaniah 1:14)

Prior to this shaking, the evacuation notice has been issued.

You can read it in the Holy Bible: “Come to Christ.” (John 3:16; Romans 10:9)

Have you heeded the notice?

Only those who know Jesus will be able to weather the storm.

Receive Him today!

“I looked when He broke the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth made of hair, and the whole moon became like blood; and the stars of the sky fell to the earth, as a fig tree casts its unripe figs when shaken by a great wind. The sky was split apart like a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. Then the kings of the earth and the great men and the commanders and the rich and the strong and every slave and free man hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains; and they said to the mountains and to the rocks, ‘Fall on us and hide us from the presence of Him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb; for the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to stand?'” (Revelation 6:12-17)
