1. Think they ARE NOT deceived. (1 John 1:6, 8)
2. Think they couldn’t possibly ever be deceived (pride comes before a fall). (Proverbs 16:18)
3. Believe everything they hear on the news.
4. Believe everything they hear from a politician. (2 Thessalonians 2:3-12)
5. Don’t realize it’s the key component of the end times. (Matthew 24:4-5)
6. Rarely pursue the truth about anything on their own (do their own research / ask questions). (2 Thessalonians 2:10b)
7. Go along with the majority just because it’s the majority (are in bondage to peer pressure). (Matthew 7:13-14))
8. Turn a deaf ear to contrary points of view (don’t confuse me with the facts). (Matthew 13:57)
9. (About deceivers) Use fear as a means of control (e.g. global warming).
10. (About deceivers) “Lies” are often a means of great gain (financial, popularity, TV appearances, high political office, etc).
