Lawless in the Last Days

Governor Brown has signed the “Dream Act” allowing illegal aliens financial aid to attend California colleges. The Presbyterian Church has ordained its first homosexual minister releasing him to serve (a man from California). He made the statement: “‘And I give thanks for those who disagree with what we’re doing today yet who know that we are one in Jesus Christ.'”

Our Lord said: “‘For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah.'” (Matthew 24:37) In other words, the conditions that existed in society at the time leading up to the Flood would be the same conditions at the world’s end. Primarily, Jesus was emphasizing the complete and utter blindness / ignorance on the part of the majority of earth’s population to what was coming. (Luke 17:27)

But there’s something else I believe is interesting in Christ’s pinpointing of Noah’s day as a picture of the end times. Genesis 6:5 gives further insight into the societal conditions then (it’s quite frightening): “Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” In other words, lawlessness typified Noah’s day. (Selah ~ pause to reflect)

And why should anyone be expected to obey a country’s laws when its politicians overlook them? And why should churchgoers obey God’s laws if its shepherds overlook them?
