10 Lies of the Devil

There was a crafty beast in the Garden of Eden. And he could talk! To the woman, the serpent said, “You won’t die if you eat the forbidden fruit. You’ll just become like God.” And the mother of all the living went along. Eve ate. To this day her children are paying for that choice (and Adam’s). You’ve stood at a funeral in front of a casket before? So much for the serpent’s/devil’s recommendations. And what Eve didn’t understand back in the Garden could have saved her and her husband (and each of us). The serpent/devil/Satan can not speak the truth ever. Uh uh. No way. It’s not possible. Everything that comes out of his mouth is a deception/false. Jesus (who can never lie) spoke of the deceiver (the devil) like this, “[He] does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” (John 8:44) And so it goes without saying that anything that comes out of the devil’s mouth must be rejected. Has he been saying anything to you lately? Might it include some/any of the following?

10 Lies of the Devil…

  • There’s no such thing as hell

    1. Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’ ” “You will not surely die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” (Gen 3:1-5, NIV)

      Not only does Satan misquote God, he calls God a liar. It all started in Genesis, and the lies just keep on a-rolling.

    2. Here’s a lie from the Devil;

      “I don’t exist, I am not here, this temptation is all your idea”

    3. Anonymous says

      “God will not hear your prayers” is what the Devil is telling me…but I refuse to listen to him in Jesus’ name

    4. I agree satan is a liar and deceiver! Yet there is one thing in this piece that I am not totally in agreement with. Satan does not always lie, just enough to manipulate, deceive and not know when it is the truth and when not. The Demons said in the gospels…you are the Christ. So there is many examples where they were speaking the truth too the thing is with deception its manipulated in such a way that we on earth requires the Holy Spirit and the Word of God to discern when it is the truth or a lie and the application or motivation of that.

      Thank you so much for your insightful writings. Enjoy it so much!!

      • You are so right! And as the spirit of deception grows darker, the more so the twisting and confusing the true Word of God. If we aren’t reading and internalizing the Word , the easier it is to deceive. Thank you for a very good point!

    5. He (Satan) tends to say to me that casual sex is okay. It is one of my biggest demons who I fight daily. I have known the truth, and jesus always gives me the strength to resist temptation. Amen to that.
